Insight:
We love the satisfaction of a good snap or crack. Perhaps because it mimics the bones of our prey, triggering something in our basest of urges, like some sort of apex predator ASMR. Perhaps not. Get an anthropological psychologist on that.
Reasons aside, we love a good crack (and I’m not talking plumbers’). Be it a broken bone or a snapped neck, there’s a part of our brain that lights up when the sound is made in movies or TV. We want folks to associate that dark satisfaction with eating Wonderful Pistachios
